CVE-2025-60790Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated service interruption via unbounded ZIP extraction

Published Oct 21, 2025 · Updated Oct 21, 2025

Uncontrolled resource consumption in ProcessWire CMS 3.0.246 allows remote authenticated users to interrupt service via a crafted ZIP. WireUpload::saveUploadZip() passes the archive to WireFileTools::unzip(), which calls ZipArchive::extractTo() per entry before validating type or enforcing size, count, depth, or time limits. The user needs lang-edit permission; expansion can exhaust CPU or disk, time out concurrent requests, and trigger site-wide write failures.
