Local code execution via out-of-bounds read
Published Nov 11, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026
An out-of-bounds read in Microsoft Excel allows attackers to execute code locally on affected systems after required user interaction. Microsoft has not published the affected Excel parser, data structure, or exact operation that reads beyond the intended buffer. Successful exploitation runs attacker-controlled code through affected desktop Office installations or Office Online Server, with no privileges required before the user interaction.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
