CVE-2025-60710Known exploitation

SYSTEM privilege escalation via link-following file access

Published Nov 11, 2025 · Updated Aug 15, 2026

Link following in Host Process for Windows Tasks in affected Windows 11 and Windows Server 2025 builds allows local users to gain SYSTEM privileges. The host process resolves an attacker-controlled link before privileged file access, causing access to follow an attacker-selected target; Microsoft has not disclosed the particular path or API. Exploitation requires local low-privilege access and grants full SYSTEM control.
