CVE-2025-6071Network attack vector

MQTT credential disclosure via hard-coded AES key

Published Jul 3, 2025 · Updated Jul 3, 2025

Hard-coded cryptography in affected ABB RMC-100 and RMC-100 LITE firmware allows remote attackers to decrypt MQTT broker credentials. ABB states that a fixed AES key protects salted MQTT information but does not identify the key's code location or derivation path. Access requires the REST interface to be enabled on the control network; the interface is disabled by default, and the reported consequence is credential disclosure.
