Privilege escalation via unchecked CLFS data read
Published Nov 11, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026
An out-of-bounds read in the Windows Common Log File System driver allows local users to elevate privileges on affected Windows systems. The clfs.sys driver does not properly validate user-supplied CLFS data before reading past the end of an allocated memory region. Low-privileged local code execution is required; the read can disclose kernel memory and support a chain to kernel-level code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
