Unauthenticated command execution via syslog address injection
Published Nov 13, 2025 · Updated Nov 13, 2025
Command injection in D-Link DIR-882 firmware DIR882A1_FW102B02 allows remote attackers to execute commands through the web interface. The syslog settings handler in prog.cgi stores the unvalidated IPAddress value in NVRAM, and rc inserts it into a syslogd command passed to twsystem(). Unauthenticated access to the management interface is sufficient to execute arbitrary commands with the router firmware privileges.
