Router crash via unbounded wanMTU processing
Published Oct 2, 2025 · Updated Oct 2, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda AC18 firmware 15.03.05.19 allows remote attackers to crash the router via a crafted wanMTU value. The fromAdvSetMacMtuWan function processes this value without enforcing the destination stack buffer's bounds. No authentication or user interaction is required; the reported consequence is a service interruption, with no data disclosure or modification.
