NSSF crash via omitted expiry field
Published Nov 24, 2025 · Updated Nov 24, 2025
Denial of service in Free5GC 4.0.0 and 4.0.1 allows remote attackers to crash NSSF via a crafted NSSAIAvailability POST request. NssaiAvailabilitySubscriptionCreate calls Expiry.IsZero() without first checking whether the optional expiry pointer is nil, causing a nil-pointer panic when the field is omitted. The NSSF API must be reachable, and deployments with OAuth enabled require a valid token; the panic interrupts request handling with HTTP 500.
