Authenticated arbitrary file upload via missing type validation
Published Jul 12, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Unrestricted file upload in Iqonic Design WPBookit 1.0.4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to upload dangerous files. The handle_image_upload() function accepts uploaded profile images without validating their file types, so executable content can be stored on the site's server. Subscriber-level access is sufficient, and a server configuration that executes the uploaded content turns the file write into remote code execution.
