SQL injection via object-to-column expansion
Published Oct 29, 2025 · Updated Oct 29, 2025
SQL injection in TypeORM before 0.3.26 allows remote attackers to alter MySQL data through crafted repository.save or repository.update calls. The MySQL driver's connection options leave mysql2 stringifyObjects false, so sqlstring objectToValues expands an object-valued field into column assignments. A consuming application must pass attacker-controlled nested objects into those repository methods; exploitation can update unintended columns.
