Stored cross-site scripting via missing nonce validation
Published Jul 23, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in stratosg YANewsflash 1.0.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to inject stored web scripts. The yanewsflash/yanewsflash.php settings page accepts state-changing requests without correctly validating a WordPress nonce, allowing attacker-controlled settings and script content to be saved. Exploitation requires a logged-in site administrator to follow a crafted link or submit a forged request, after which the stored script executes for visitors who render the affected newsflash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
