Authenticated data disclosure via unchecked blockId
Published Oct 21, 2025 · Updated Oct 21, 2025
Authorization bypass in Moodle OpenAI Chat Block plugin 3.0.1 allows remote authenticated users to read administrator-only chat data. The completion.php endpoint accepts a user-controlled blockId and loads that block's prompts, Source of Truth entries, and model settings without verifying ownership. Student-level access and a valid chat block are required; substituting an administrator's block identifier exposes its generated responses and can consume its configured model resources.
