Process crash via scheduled callback use-after-free
Published Jun 24, 2026 · Updated Jun 24, 2026
Use-after-free in GPAC MP4Box before 26.02.0 allows attackers to crash the process by supplying a crafted MPEG-2 TS file. During filter teardown, gf_filter_pid_inst_swap_delete frees a GF_FilterPidInstance before its scheduled gf_filter_pid_inst_swap_delete_task callback reads four bytes from that allocation. Processing the file with MP4Box is sufficient to terminate that process; no data disclosure or modification is reported.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
