Stored XSS via forged settings updates
Published Jun 14, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in Easy Flashcards 0.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to inject stored scripts through forged settings requests. The ef_settings_submenu page accepts settings updates without valid nonce verification, allowing attacker-controlled script content to be stored. Exploitation requires an administrator to submit the forged request, after which the stored script executes in a victim's browser and can read or alter data available to that session.
