Local denial of service via incomplete cleanup
Published Oct 17, 2025 · Updated Oct 17, 2025
Memory leak in r_bin_object_new in radare2 5.9.8 and earlier allows local users to exhaust memory and interrupt the process. When a binary plugin fails to load an input or lacks a load callback, the function returns without releasing its string pool, symbol vector, hash tables, lists, and string database. Repeated failing loads require low-privilege local access and can consume memory until the radare2 process becomes unavailable.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
