Browser script execution via unsanitized Markdown preview
Published Oct 7, 2025 · Updated Oct 7, 2025
Cross-site scripting in Sourcecodester Markdown to HTML Converter 1.0 allows remote attackers to run script in a victim's browser. The conversion flow accepts HTML in the Markdown Input field and places the generated markup into the rendered preview without neutralizing executable elements. Exploitation requires a victim to process attacker-supplied input by clicking Convert to HTML, after which the payload runs with the preview page's browser privileges.
