Stored script execution via unsanitized comment replies
Published Oct 8, 2025 · Updated Oct 8, 2025
Stored cross-site scripting in Novel-Plus 5.2.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in other users’ browsers. The /book/addCommentReply endpoint stores the replyContent parameter without neutralizing executable markup, then renders it in comment threads. An account and a victim viewing the affected thread are required, enabling access to or modification of data available to the victim’s browser session.
