CVE-2025-6023Network attack vector

Cross-site scripting via uncleaned redirect paths

Published Jul 18, 2025 · Updated Jul 18, 2025

Cross-site scripting in Grafana 11.5.0 and later allows remote attackers to run JavaScript in a viewer's browser via a crafted link. The staticHandler in pkg/api/static/static.go redirected an uncleaned request path, allowing encoded traversal to turn the Location value into an external script URL. A victim must open the link and normally be authenticated with Viewer access, although anonymous access also exposes sessions; execution can hijack the session or account.
