Administrator code execution via unrestricted product-image upload
Published Jun 11, 2025 · Updated Jun 11, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in the Product Image backend in VirtueMart before 4.4.10 allows remote authenticated users to execute code. The media uploader accepts arbitrary filename extensions and stores uploaded files in a web-accessible directory, enabling a PHP shell or a crafted .htaccess file and image-suffixed shell to execute. Default installations require Super Administrator access, and execution depends on the web server processing the uploaded type.
