CVE-2025-60004Network attack vector

Routing daemon crash via specific BGP EVPN update

Published Oct 9, 2025 · Updated Oct 9, 2025

Improper condition handling in rpd in Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved allows remote attackers to crash and restart rpd. rpd fails to safely handle a specific BGP EVPN update received over an established BGP session; Juniper has not disclosed the precise exceptional condition. Any iBGP or eBGP peer over IPv4 or IPv6 that can send EVPN updates can trigger the crash even when BGP EVPN is not configured.
