CVE-2025-59964Network attack vector

Forwarding-plane denial of service via uninitialized resource

Published Oct 9, 2025 · Updated Oct 9, 2025

Use of an uninitialized PFE resource in Junos OS 24.4 through 24.4R1-S2 and 24.4R2 allows remote attackers to restart an SRX4700 FPC. With forwarding-options sampling enabled, the PFE line card uses an uninitialized resource while processing IPv4 or IPv6 traffic destined for the Routing Engine, causing the FPC to crash and restart. The attack requires no authentication, and continued qualifying traffic sustains loss of service on the affected forwarding line card.
