CVE-2025-59962

Routing-service interruption via uninitialized pointer access

Published Oct 9, 2025 · Updated Oct 9, 2025

Access of an uninitialized pointer in Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved allows adjacent attackers to restart rpd. With BGP sharding enabled, rpd accesses an uninitialized pointer while resolving an indirect next hop after an IGP route change. Repeated IGP route churn raises the chance of the timing-dependent crash and can extend the routing-service interruption through repeated restarts.
