Node crash via signer-index integer overflow
Published Sep 29, 2025 · Updated Sep 29, 2025
Integer overflow in Filecoin go-f3 before 0.8.7 allows remote attackers to crash nodes with a crafted F3 justification message. Signer-index validation accumulates justification power without first bounding the sum against math.MaxInt64, so a poison message overflows and triggers a panic. No privileges or user interaction are required, but the non-propagating message must be delivered directly to each target node.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
