Consensus manipulation via context-free justification cache
Published Sep 29, 2025 · Updated Sep 29, 2025
Authentication bypass in Filecoin go-f3 before 0.8.9 allows remote authenticated users to influence consensus with invalid justifications. The justification verifier caches a successful result without binding the cache entry to the message context, so a valid justification is accepted again for an incompatible vote. Meaningful exploitation requires at least 350 TiB of storage power and synchronized disruption of more than one-third of the network; consequences are consensus-integrity loss and reduced liveness.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
