Tab redirection via unhardened LaTeX links
Published Sep 26, 2025 · Updated Sep 26, 2025
Reverse tabnabbing in JupyterLab before 4.4.8 allows remote attackers to redirect an opener tab through crafted LaTeX links. LaTeX typesetter output in Markdown files and cells left generated anchors without rel=noopener, preserving window.opener access for a target opened in a new tab. Exploitation requires a third-party typesetter that emits target=_blank and a user click; official typesetters do not, so default installations have no impact.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
