CVE-2025-59840Public exploitNetwork attack vector

DOM XSS via global toString gadget

Published Nov 13, 2025 · Updated Nov 14, 2025

DOM XSS in Vega before 6.2.0 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript through a crafted visualization definition. An event exposed to the expression evaluator permits member access to window objects, letting an overridden toString invoke a VEGA_DEBUG global gadget that reaches eval. Exploitation requires an application to expose Vega and a View globally, accept user-defined JSON, and trigger the expression through user interaction.
