Admin session hijacking via stored ticket comments
Published Sep 25, 2025 · Updated Sep 25, 2025
Stored XSS in Horilla HRMS before 1.4.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in an administrator's browser. The ticket comment editor's code-rendering option stores attacker-supplied markup and renders it as executable HTML instead of escaped text. Low-privilege access and a privileged user viewing the ticket are required; the script can read cookies and CSRF tokens and perform actions through the administrator's session.
