CVE-2025-59800

Service crash via OCR raster-size integer overflow

Published Sep 22, 2025 · Updated Sep 22, 2025

Heap-based buffer overflow in Artifex Software Ghostscript 10.05.1 and earlier allows local users to crash OCR document processing. In ocr_begin_page, an int calculation multiplies the aligned page width by height, wraps to an undersized allocation, and lets ocr_line8 write past the heap buffer. Reachability requires a build with Tesseract OCR and processing through the pdfocr8 device; the bounded reported consequence is a Ghostscript process crash.
