Unauthenticated user enumeration via token-validation discrepancy
Published Nov 5, 2025 · Updated Nov 5, 2025
Information disclosure in ownCloud Guests before 0.12.5 allows remote attackers to enumerate pending guest e-mail addresses. The showPasswordForm handler at /apps/guests/register/{email}/{token} branches on whether the e-mail identifies a pending guest before rejecting an invalid token, producing distinct responses. No authentication or valid invitation token is required; the discrepancy reveals only whether a supplied e-mail belongs to a pending guest.
