Authenticated file overwrite and authentication coercion via uploads
Published Apr 3, 2026 · Updated Apr 3, 2026
Path traversal in Kovai.co BizTalk360 before 11.6.3963.2611 allows remote authenticated users to write files outside upload directories. AnalyticsDataBusinessService.UploadFile passes the user-controlled fileName directly as the second Path.Combine argument, allowing relative, absolute, or UNC paths to replace the intended destination. Any authenticated domain account can reach the IIS-hosted WCF service on a domain-joined Windows server, enabling arbitrary file writes as the privileged service account or forced authentication to a remote share.
