Physical root access via boot-time USB reactivation

Privilege escalation in Entrust nShield appliances through 13.6.11 or 13.7 allows physically proximate attackers to gain root access. A chassis probe pulls a board pin to 3.3 volts during boot, reactivating the front USB port without triggering tamper protections. A keyboard can then enter the unsecured GRUB shell and alter kernel arguments, compromising the appliance but not the embedded HSM or its keys.
