Cleartext storage in Entrust nShield Connect XC, 5c, and HSMi through 13.6.11 or 13.7 allows physically proximate attackers to read or alter SSD data. The appliance stores its operating system, configuration settings, and recovery data on an SSD without encryption or integrity verification. Direct physical access and elevated privileges are required; the exposed SSD enables stealthy appliance and recovery-mechanism compromise but does not expose cryptographic keys inside the embedded HSM.
