Administrative command execution via unlocalized Safe-jail variable
Published Sep 17, 2025 · Updated Sep 17, 2025
OS command injection in LemonLDAP::NG before 2.16.7 and 2.17 through 2.21 before 2.21.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute server commands. The Safe-jail rule evaluator passes administrator-controlled Perl expressions to jail_reval without localizing the special $_ variable, leaving outer interpreter state reachable during evaluation. Exploitation requires administrative permission to edit an evaluated rule; a successful escape runs commands under the service account.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=0 <2.16.7
