Contributor-level stored XSS via unescaped kind parameter
Published Jun 13, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in IndieBlocks 0.13.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through the kind parameter. The Facepile Content renderer incorporates the kind value into generated HTML without sufficient validation or context-appropriate output escaping. Contributor-level access is required to store the payload, which executes in a visitor's browser whenever the injected page is opened.
