Traffic disclosure and tampering via cleartext MQTT
Published Oct 6, 2025 · Updated Oct 6, 2025
Cleartext transmission in YoSmart YoLink Application before 1.40.45 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to read or alter MQTT traffic. Older application builds connect to the cloud MQTT broker without enforcing SSL, exposing credentials and device-control messages in transit. The attacker must control or monitor the application's network path; the vendor disputes that the Hub hardware, firmware, or broker is vulnerable.
