CVE-2025-59398Public exploit

Service crash via uncaught oversized-string exception

Published Sep 15, 2025 · Updated Sep 15, 2025

Denial of service in EVerest libocpp before 0.26.2 allows remote attackers on an adjacent network to crash EVerest via OCPP JSON. The OCPP 2.0.1 message callback constructs bounded CiString<255> values from attacker-controlled message fields without catching StringConversionException, so an overlength value terminates the process. Network adjacency and malformed JSON larger than 255 characters are required; the documented consequence is a crash, not data access or modification.
