CVE-2025-59388Network attack vector

Unauthenticated access via hard-coded Bareos credentials

Published Mar 12, 2026 · Updated Mar 12, 2026

Hard-coded credentials in QNAP HDP for PC/VM before 2.3.1.455 allow remote attackers to bypass authentication and gain unauthorized access. The Hyper Data Protector plugin configures its Bareos backup service with hard-coded credentials that attackers can reuse to authenticate. The attack requires network access to an affected NAS but no account or user interaction; published sources do not define the resulting privileges or data exposure.
