CVE-2025-59373

Local SYSTEM execution via permissive restore pipe

Published Nov 25, 2025 · Updated Nov 25, 2025

Local privilege escalation in ASUS System Control Interface before 3.1.48.0 allows local users to execute arbitrary files as SYSTEM. The restore mechanism accepts files copied by an unprivileged process into protected system paths without validation, while AsusSwitchAgent exposes a named pipe with incorrect permissions. Low-privileged code execution on an affected Windows system is required; successful exploitation grants SYSTEM-level code execution.
