CVE-2025-59358Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Cluster-wide denial of service via unauthenticated GraphQL

Published Sep 15, 2025 · Updated Sep 15, 2025

Missing authentication in Chaos Mesh 2.7.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to terminate processes in arbitrary Kubernetes pods. The Chaos Controller Manager exposes its chaosctl GraphQL server on port 10082 cluster-wide and accepts the killProcesses mutation without authentication. Any unprivileged pod with in-cluster network access can invoke the mutation and stop critical pod processes, interrupting services across the cluster.
