Cross-tenant institution-member impersonation
Published Apr 24, 2026 · Updated Apr 24, 2026
Improper access control in Mahara before 24.04.10 and 25 before 25.04.1 allows remote authenticated users to impersonate institution members. The public advisory does not identify the affected masquerading handler or the authorization check it fails to enforce. Exploitation requires a multi-tenanted deployment and an account that combines the Site staff role with institution administrator or support administrator rights; the account can then assume a member identity in another institution.
