Authenticated data corruption via unchecked migration retries
Published Sep 24, 2025 · Updated Sep 24, 2025
Improper authorization in Langfuse 3.1 before d67b317 allows remote authenticated users to restart background migrations. The background-migrations-router.ts retry procedure relies on session-only protectedProcedure middleware and never checks for administrative privileges. Any standard account can list migration names and repeatedly restart jobs, risking database inconsistency or a platform-wide service outage.
