Local code execution via use-after-free
Published Oct 14, 2025 · Updated Oct 14, 2025
Use-after-free in supported Microsoft Office releases allows local users to execute code after a user opens a crafted file. Microsoft has not published the affected Office component, the freed object's lifetime error, or the crafted input format that triggers its reuse. Exploitation requires local access and user interaction, and successful execution occurs in the affected user's Office process context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
