Local code execution via use-after-free
Published Oct 14, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026
Use-after-free in Microsoft Excel allows local users to execute arbitrary code after a user opens malicious content. Microsoft has not published the affected Excel component, the freed object, or the operation that later reuses it. Successful exploitation requires user interaction and runs code in the user context, allowing data access, modification, or service interruption within that account.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
