CVE-2025-59220

Local privilege escalation via Bluetooth race condition

Published Sep 18, 2025 · Updated Sep 18, 2025

A race condition in Microsoft Windows Bluetooth Service allows local users to elevate privileges on affected Windows systems. Improper synchronization of a shared service resource permits a use-after-free during concurrent execution, although Microsoft has not identified the resource, function, or attacker-controlled trigger. Exploitation requires existing local low-privilege access and a high-complexity race; the disclosed consequence is local privilege escalation.
