Information disclosure in Microsoft Windows File Explorer allows remote attackers to capture NTLM hashes through unsafe file previews. File Explorer processes HTML references to external paths while previewing an untrusted file, causing Windows to authenticate to an attacker-controlled endpoint. Exploitation requires a user to preview a marked or Internet-zone file, exposing reusable credential material without altering files or availability.
