Sandbox escape via raced RPC server
Published Oct 14, 2025 · Updated Feb 22, 2026
Spoofing in Microsoft Windows Data Sharing Service Client allows local users to escape a low-integrity sandbox after a user clicks a crafted toast. The dsclient.dll RPC client accepts a raced rogue DsSvc server token, and PerformanceTraceHandler inserts the unescaped token into toast XML. A low-integrity process must register the RPC interface first and trigger RequestTrace; the click runs an attacker-chosen file at medium integrity.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
