Protected-post disclosure via REST-exposed share key
Published Jul 4, 2025 · Updated Jul 8, 2025
Sensitive data exposure in Fabian Todt Private Post Share before 1.1.1 allows remote attackers to read protected posts via HTTP. The WordPress posts REST response returns the _sppp_key post-meta value without authentication, exposing the key accepted by the plugin's post-access check. A target post must be password protected and have secret-link sharing enabled; the recovered key bypasses only that post's content gate.
