Physical root access via unencrypted flash storage

Cleartext storage in dormakaba Access Manager 92xx K5 and K7 allows physically proximate attackers to read or alter flash data. The device leaves flash contents unencrypted, so removed memory can be edited and reinstalled to change /etc/passwd, expose certificates, keys and PINs, and obtain SSH root access on K7. Exploitation requires physical access, desoldering equipment and time; all K5 versions are affected, while K7 versions before BAME 06.00 are affected, and K5 also exposes the Access Manager password in its SQLite database.
