Authenticated SSRF via unrestricted package URL
Published Sep 11, 2025 · Updated Sep 11, 2025
SSRF in InstantCMS 2.17.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to make arbitrary HTTP or HTTPS requests through the installer. The admin install action passes the package URL to cmsUploader remote upload without restricting its host, so the server retrieves attacker-chosen destinations. Administrator access is required; requests can reach internal services, scan local networks, disclose origin IPs, or exhaust server resources.
