Command execution via unsanitized character card rendering
Published Sep 11, 2025 · Updated Sep 11, 2025
Code injection in Moeru AI AIRI 0.7.2-beta.2 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands through a malicious character card. The card renderer passes highlightTagToHtml output to Vue v-html without sanitization, so injected JavaScript can invoke the exposed Tauri MCP connect_server command, which forwards attacker-controlled command and args values to Command::new().args(). A user must upload or create the card and click it; successful exploitation runs commands with the desktop application's privileges.
